Vladimir Putin has assured participants in the World Economic Forum that Russia will continue accelerating the rates of reforms. Speaking on Tuesday at a plenary meeting of the Forum's visiting session in Moscow, the Russian president cited data about the changes which have taken place of late in Russian economy. According to him, despite the radical reduction of taxes, and perhaps due to it, the tax dues grew by 14 percent in real terms. The GDP has grown by more than 20 percent over three years. Vladimir Putin also stressed that the active social policy, which is being pursued parallel with the efforts taken in the economic sphere, was also very important. The Forum is being attended by about 70 representatives of the leading Western industrial corporations and banks, and international financial institutions.
