Vladimir Putin: Moscow, Baku interested in agreement on transportation of Azeri oil via Russia

Russia and Azerbaijan are interested in concluding an agreement on transportation of Azeri oil via Russian territory. This statement was made by President Vladimir Putin of Russia upon the completion of talks with the leader of Azerbaijan.

The Russian president noted that 2.3 million tons of Azeri oil were pumped through the Russian pipeline net last year, while this year - 2.5 million tons.

Vladimir Putin said that Moscow is interested in increasing volumes of Azeri oil pumped. At the same time, he stressed that Russia is committing to provide Azerbaijan with natural gas in volumes enough to meet its needs.
