500 Krasnoyarsk voters have appealed to chairman of the Central Election Committee Alexander Veshnyakov to take the elections of the region's governor due on September 8th "under his personal control in order to suppress attempts of violating election legislation and not to allow distortion of people's will". The letter to Veshnyakov, published in a Krasnoyarsk newspaper, states that "dirty election technologies have been fully employed in the region". The authors accuse one of the candidates, speaker of the Krasnoyarsk legislature Alexander Uss, of violating election legislation and "abuse of administrative resources".

In particular, the letter says that Uss "started electioneering before being officially registered as a candidate", and "before the end of July, without taking a leave from work" traveled around the region at the taxpayers' expense.

The authors draw Veshnyakov's attention to the fact that the speaker's free time on the air of local TV stations exceed that of other candidates, thus abusing "administrative resources".

They also state that heads of some districts "use their official positions to electioneer for Uss".
