Green Electricity To Save Australia
Origin Energy Electricity Limited signed two major contracts with Pacific Hydro Limited companies to purchase the entire output from the Challicum Hills wind farm.
Origin Energy will own 50% equity interest in the Challicum Hills project.
Challicum produces 52.5 megawatts, so Hills will be the largest wind farm in Australia. The project will be implemented by mid 2003.
Yambuk and Challicum Hills wind farms both provides enough green electricity to power more than 42,000 homes and abate around 290,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions each year.
