The so-called "black list" of domains and websites with illegal content is going to be published in Russia today. The registry will include the websites that contain the propaganda of drugs, child pornography and incitement to suicide.

According to Kommersant, the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications (ROSKOMNADZOR) will act as the operator of the registry.

In accordance with the law that comes into force on November 1, the agency will supervise the websites the content of which cause harm to children's health. The registry will have an official web address: reestr-zapret.rsoc.ru.

With the detection of illegal online content, the owner of the site will receive a warning. Afterwards, the owner will have to remove the illegal materials within three days. If the person owning the website does nothing in response to the warning, the network address of the site will fall in the "black list." If the servers are located outside the Russian jurisdiction, the sites will be blocked on the level of providers. It will be possible to appeal the decision in court.

Roskomnadzor will also monitor other types of illegal content on the web, such as the propaganda of war or the incitement of ethnic hatred. In this case, a website will be included in the register only by court order.
