Keel Laying Ceremony of Patrol Cutter for Russian Frontier Guards at Shipbuilding Company "Almaz"
The keel laying ceremony of the patrol cutter project 12200 Sobol for the Russian Federal Frontier Guard Service will be held on Friday at the shipbuilding company "Almaz", which is part of "United Machine-Building Plants" limited company. This was disclosed to a RIA Novosti correspondent by the press-service of the shipbuilding company.
The cutter is designed to protect the state border, coastal lanes, vessels, artificial constructions and for the control of the state economic zone.
The special automatic system will enable the cutter to reach the speed of 50 knots and provide the conditions for its exploitation during the roll of the sea up to 5 points on the Beaufort scale.
