Independent research group releases data on largest Russian advertisers

Advertising budgets of the ten major Russian advertisers amounted to atotal of $225m in June 2002, as compared to $218m in May 2002, theindependent research group RG reported. Procter & Gamble was the leaderin the total volume of allocations for advertising with $52.8m in June thisyear ($38m in May). Wimm Bill Dann, Russia's largest beverage producer, wasin second with $30.8m in June ($26.1m in May). Then came Unilever with$27.9m ($31.7m in May), Nestle with $18.7m ($28m in May) and L'Oreal with$18.5m ($6.6m in May).Procter & Gamble was the leader in the volume of advertising on television.It allocated $51.2m for these purposes in June 2002., while Wimm Bill Dannspent $30.8m on commercials. Unilever was in third with $25.4m and Nestlewas in fourth with $18.5m.Samsung Electronics became the leader in billboard advertising ($1.67m). Itwas followed by RJR Tobacco ($763,000) and Philip Morris ($577,000)..
