Statistics Committee releases latest data on inflation
Inflation reached 0.1 percent in Russia from August 1 to 19, 2002, theState Statistics Committee reported. However, consumer prices remainedunchanged from August 13 to 19. The average daily rise in consumer pricesin the first 19 days of August was 0.004 percent as compared to 0 percentin August 2001 and 0.023 percent in July 2002. The State StatisticsCommittee forecasts that prices on goods and chargeable services may go upabout 0-0.2 percent in August, provided that inflation dynamics remainunchanged.In July 2002, inflation was reported at 0.7 percent and it reached 9.8percent in the first seven months of this year.
