Russian air companies speak in favor of foreign planes
According to him, during consultations many Russian aircompanies supported the idea of reducing import taxes on foreign jets, atleast as a temporary measure.Filev pointed out that the repair service of new Russian jets like Tu-204and Tu-214 was on a very poor level. Moreover, terms of their technicalservicing are not executed, which leads to long downtime and financiallosses of air companies.Commenting Filev's statement, Russian Transportation Minister Sergey Frankdeclared that the government was not going to decrease import taxes onforeign aircraft. "At present the government does not consider thisquestion to be of current interest", the Minister noted. .
