Gazprom posts consolidated financial report

Consolidated profits of the Russian gas giant Gazprom dropped 30.1 percent to 47.3bn rubles (about $1.49bn) in the first half of 2002 as compared to the corresponding period in 2001, a source in the gas holding reported to RBC. Pre-tax consolidated profits went down 42.7 percent and totaled 68.9bn rubles (about $2.17bn). The company's sales profits saw a reduction as well - they fell by 33.7 percent to 89.6bn rubles (about $2.82bn). Finally, Gazprom's sales proceeds were down 9.5 percent and amounted to 283.2bn rubles (about $8.9bn).
