Russia to pay off another debt to IMF

At the beginning of the next week the Russian Ministry of Finance will continue to pay off its debt to the International Monetary Fond and transfer 26,622,000 euro, announced the Ministry's press service and said that the money would be transferred in compliance with the original payments schedule.

The previous payment at the sum of 25,147,000 US dollars was made last week. On the whole, Russia intends to pay the total of 1.5 billion dollars to the IMF in order to liquidate its debt. In January 2002 Russia's debt was estimated at 7.5 billion US dollars. From January to May the International Monetary Fund received about 600 million US dollars.
