Oleg Saraev, the general director of Rosenergoatom, the Russian state nuclear energy company, does not exclude the possibility of privatizing nuclear power stations. He was speaking yesterday at the 'Russian Energy Sector' conference in St. Petersburg.

'Until recently, the word 'privatization' was taboo in the nuclear energy sector, although today there are proposals to privatize several nuclear power stations and even to sell off 100% of the government's stake in Rosenergoatom,' said Saraev. However, he did not specify the concrete dates or conditions for such a sale.
