Volkswagen continues negotiations on building car plant
Volkswagen is not turning down a project of creating its plant in Russia, Deputy Industry Minister of Russia Sergey Mitin stated at a press conference devoted to the implementation of the government's concept for automobile industry development. According to him, negotiations between the company and the Moscow regional government on the construction of a car plant are currently underway. As Mitin pointed out, Volkswagen is planning to create production of cars and parts using the same pattern as the Ford company while constructing its plant near St. Petersburg. According to the Deputy Minister, Volkswagen's project suggests a gradual increase in the volume of car production.
