Data on aluminum exports released

In January-July 2002, exports of Russian unprocessed aluminum amounted to1.697 million tons as compared to 1.797 million tons in the correspondingperiod of 2001, the Russian State Customs Committee reported. The amount ofsupplies reached $1.757bn ($2.176bn in 2001). Russia supplied 5,500 tons ofaluminum to the CIS countries, which was $9m worth.Exports of Russian unprocessed nickel increased in the mentioned period by97.8 percent to 191,700 tons. The sum of the supplies amounted to $1.138bnagainst $616.3m in the corresponding period of 2001. All nickel exportswere to foreign countries beyond the CIS.In the first seven months of 2002, exports of refined copper declined by18.7 percent to 283,400 tons. The sum of supplies was $391.1m as comparedto $549.9m in 2001. Russia exported 279,600 tons of copper to far foreigncountries (against 347,200 tons in 2001), which were $386m ($546.8m)worth..
