Latvian Banks Make Record Profits
Over the first eleven months of this year Latvia's commercial banks have made a profit of 50 million lats (USD 85 million). This was announced today at a press conference by Ilmars Rimsevics, the governor of the Bank of Latvia. According to Rimsevics, this figure is a new record for Latvian banks. Rimsevics also said that in comparison to the same period last year, Latvian banks increased their profits by 1.7%.
