Representatives of Russia's largest oil companies will participate in the work of the Russian-US task group for coordinating the cooperation in the energy sector, the press service of the Russian energy ministry reported citing Russian energy minister Igor Yusufov who proposed the corresponding initiative at today's meeting with his US counterpart Spenser Abraham and representatives of the Russian oil companies.

Yusufov called the agreement on starting the energy dialogue with the USA as the key agreement that was achieved at the meeting in Moscow. Speaking about the coming US-Russian energy summit, which is to be held in Houston at the beginning of October, Abraham stressed that it should become "an indicator for investors who are ready to invest in the Russian fuel and energy sector".

Yusufov also said that it is necessary to create conditions for promoting Russian oil and gas companies on the US financial markets.

Among the participants of the meeting there were US Ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow, executives of Rosneft, LUKoil, Tatneft, Sibneft, YUKOS and others.
