Ivanovo churches to be restored

Objects of cultural heritage of the Ivanovo region will receive additional funding from the federal budget. This was made possible owing to redistribution of available  dividend of the target federal program.

"In my opinion, the initiative should entirely come from local authorities, the people who are interested in the beauty of their region, - Tatiana Shumova, Vice President of the Russian Cultural Foundation says. - Naturally, the success of any business depends on how persistent local authorities are in turning to central authorities and relevant ministries."

Given the additional funding, the total financing of the federal budget for the restoration of religious sites of the Ivanovo region in 2014 reached 90 million rubles. The newly allocated funds will be used to restore several churches.

The Department of Culture and Cultural Heritage, together with scientists and ethnographers, continues to identify new architectural and cultural constructions.

"Research activities to identify objects make an integral part of the work to preserve all monuments of history and culture. Of course, the period of their construction must be quite significant, more than 50 years, but we have many of such objects, including in the Ivanovo region, Galina Malanicheva, member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, chairwoman of the central council of the "All-Russian Society for Protection of Monuments of History and Culture" told Pravda.Ru. - The identification of such objects is absolutely necessary from the scientific and historical point of view."
