TB centers for children in Nizhny Novgorod region receive charity cargo

Nizhny Novgorod region Governor Valery Shantsev and chairman of the Russian Children's Fund, Albert Likhanov, handed over a charity cargo to four regional children's TB centers. The children of the centers have thus received 140 boxes of books, videos, stationery goods, clothing, footwear and medical equipment.

The Nizhny Novgorod region received the charity goods within the scope of the long-term nationwide charity program "Children's TB". The problem of childhood tuberculosis is a social issue. Each year, up to 300 cases of TB among children are registered.

"It is important to ensure normal conditions of the health care system and solve a number of problems in order to protect people from TB," Nizhny Novgorod region Governor Valery Shantsev said.

Noteworthy, there are four TB centers in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Boys and girls spend months in the centers, receiving treatment and studying.
