Chechen criminal gang member detained in Moscow

The Moscow Main Interior Affairs Department's Criminal Investigation Squad officers have detained an active member of a Chechen criminal grouping, who had 386 g of ammonite on him.

The capital's law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti the detention had taken place in the early hours of Monday, during a search of a Zhiguli car the detained had driven under power of attorney.

Law enforcers are checking the arrestee's possible association with the recent terrorist act in the Theater Center.

Available data suggest the detained is a Chechen resident, but his name is not made public for investigation reasons.

Besides, Anti-Organised Crime Department (OBOP) officers detained the day before a man who had in his Zhiguli car a submachine gun of foreign make, three hunting rifles and 9-mm calibre rounds. Investigation is underway.
