Tuva Republic to become part of Eurasian axis

The Republic of Tuva can become a reference point in the international project of integration of the countries of the Eurasian continent. The idea was born at the meeting between the head of the republic Sholban Kara-ool and Vice President of the Association Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists, rector of the Ural State University of Economics, Mikhail Fyodorov.

Academician Mikhail Fyodorov, one of the most active and influential devotees of the Eurasian Union, believes that the Republic of Tuva, like no other region, is suitable for the role of the growing Eurasian movement thanks to its status of the geographical center of Asia. According to Mikhail Fyodorov, the capital of Tuva, Kyzyl, along with Yekaterinburg, through which the boundary between Europe and Asia goes, and the geographical center of the Old World - Dresden, Germany - form a symbolic bridge connecting not only two continents, but also two most ancient civilizations in the world.

"The idea of Eurasian cooperation for Russia has always been and remains relevant. Now, the idea is particularly important in connection with Russia's turn to the east. Therefore, we pay more and more attention to the work with Asian partners, especially with major economies, such as China, and naturally, our neighbors - both members of the EU and other countries. It is no accident that ideas  of Eurasian cooperation become increasingly important," co-chairman of the All-Russian public organization Business Russia, Alexey Repik told Pravda.Ru.

"In the face of increasing pressure of sanctions on Russia on the part of Western countries, the topic of Eurasian integration has gained a second wind, - leading researcher at the Center for Strategic Analysis of the Institute of Innovative Development, Vasily Vankov said in an interview with Pravda.Ru. - The project of the axis Dresden-Yekaterinburg-Kyzyl develops the idea of a common European economic space based on the geo-strategic partnership between the EU and Russia.

The choice of Tuva as one of the reference points on the axis of the Eurasian integration is not accidental, given that in the past, the territories used to serve for the Great Silk Road. The inclusion of Tuva marks reincarnation and new life for the project. However, the creation of a logistics hub will help revitalize not only this region (which for a long time was not one of Russia's developed territories), but also South Siberia on the whole. The successful implementation of the announced strategy will lead to an influx of investment and the development of cooperative relations not only with northern provinces of China, but also with neighboring Mongolia."
