The strongest snowfall in this winter is expected to break out soon in the Russian capital. Moscow residents, who saw a lot of snow in early February, are to get ready for new misfortunes. According to the meteorological centre, the amount of snow in Moscow may exceed 20 cm, RBC reports. Scientists predict the snowfall is to begin in the afternoon on Tuesday, and will last for more than 24 hours. Representatives of the capital’s main department of civil defence and emergencies confirmed the information on the expected snowfall and recommended that motorists restrain from driving on these days. At the beginning of February, a strong snowfall continued for several days in Moscow. A 1956 record, when the city had been covered with a 60cm layer of snow, was almost beaten. This February, the deepest snow-drifts were on the Vorobyovy Hills (40 cm). In rain equivalent, this equals to two buckets of water spilt on one square meter.
