Pentagon to Train 5,000 Iraqi Insurgents

A spokesperson for the Iraqi opposition group based in London, the Iraqi National Congress, has claimed that the Pentagon will train 5,000 operatives who will begin their training in November, with a view to entering Iraq to topple the regime.

The spokesperson stated that there were already long lists of volunteers. “I was in Washington last week and we had meetings with the Pentagon. The Americans said that they wanted a training programme for 5,000 people”, he said.
