Development Of China's Cooperation With Russian Regions Is Goal Of Chinese Diplomats' Visit To Rostov-on-Don

Development of cooperation between China and regions of Russia is the goal of a visit of Chinese diplomats to Rostov-on-Don. First secretaries of the Embassy of China to Russia Liu Jong and Jing Fen and second secretary Lo Weidun arrived here on Tuesday. Interest in joint projects is mutual. The first such visit to the Rostov region was held last September. In a short time the Chinese Foreign Ministry approved the project of a sewing factory in the coal-miners' city of Novoshakhtinsk. Before that in Moscow were approved Chinese investments in this project -- 16 million dollars. For a coal-mining region, where unemployment remains a problem after the closure of mines, the factory may greatly alleviate social tensions. It is planned that the new enterprise will require about 2,000 workers. During the current visit the Chinese delegation will familiarize itself with another miners' city, Shakhty. This visit is scheduled for Wednesday.
