Russian-Bulgarian spy scandal: Russia takes retaliatory measures

3 Bulgarian diplomats have been requested to leave Russia before March 23d in connection with an “activity incompatible with their diplomatic status,” in other words, espionage. Last week, Bulgaria expelled 3 Russian diplomats on similar grounds. The details have not so far become known, and the Russian SVR, or the External Intelligence Service, keeps traditionally silent. The Bulgarians would also hardly comment. The sides have just “exchanged courtesies.”
