Vasily Nesterenko art exhibition to be held in Nizhny Novgorod region

An exhibition of works of the People's Artist of Russia, member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Vasily Nesterenko, opens at the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum. The governor of the region, Valery Shantsev, will take part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

Vasily Nesterenko is one of the leading contemporary artists of Russia. His works can be found in many Russian museums - the Tretyakov Gallery, the Central Museum of Armed Forces, the State Historical Museum. Vasily Nesterenko participated in the reconstruction of frescos of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.

Vasily Nesterenko sticks to the classical style of art that is based on the traditions of the Russian art school. The artist paints portraits, landscapes and still life paintings. Religious painting and multi-historical compositions take one of the key places in his creative work.

The exhibition at the Nizhny Novgorod museum will feature more than 40 works by Vasily Nesterenko. It is worth paying special attention to a series of works dedicated to events in 1612 and the heroism of the Nizhny Novgorod militia.
