Russia not resuming defense shipments to Ukraine

The Russian Defense Ministry has not resumed the delivery of military equipment from the Crimea, Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said.

According to him, the east and south-east of Ukraine is a hot spot. "Russia adheres to international obligations, under the Charter of Paris  within the framework of the Helsinki Final Act, decisions of the UN and the OSCE and is thus committed not to deliver or show restraint in arms deliveries to hot spots," said Antonov.

Accordingly, in this regard, Defense Minister Gen. Sergei Shoigu decided to suspend the deliveries the military equipment that Ukraine previously owned. At the same time, Antonova said, it does not concern ships and aircraft.

Russia's Defense Ministry has already shipped more than 350 pieces of military equipment to Ukraine, which was previously deployed in the Crimea. Deputy Defense Minister of Russia, Army General Dmitry Bulgakov said Wednesday that the removal of tracked and wheeled vehicles from the Crimea had been completed. Negotiations are under way about the return of about 70 warships and vessels of the Ukrainian Navy fleet.
