Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree, according to which the duties of the head of the administration of the government of the Russian Federation will be entrusted to Deputy Chief of the Government Administration, Sergei Prikhodko.

On May 8th, Vladislav Surkov was dismissed from the position of the vice prime minister and the head of the government administration, of his own accord. Surkov wrote a letter of resignation in connection with a discussion of the execution of presidential decrees.

Sergei Prikhodko was born on January 12, 1957 in Moscow. In 1980, he graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. On May 22, 2012 he was appointed first deputy head of the government of the Russian Federation.
