Four separate bomb attacks on Afghan schools, presumably by elements linked to the former Taleban regime, are creating instability in Afghanistan. The UNO has called on the perpetrators to cease these actions, since they are fruitless and will never take away the determination of the children of Afghanistan to study.

The 4 bombings took place in Wardak province, causing damage to school accommodation and materials but no human casualties. Three of the schools have since been re-opened. A UNICEF spokesperson has claimed that the local population is outraged at the attacks and have expressed their determination not to let these activities deprive their children of an education, after years of Taleban rule brought the educational framework of the country to crisis point.
