Scandal: a priest sentenced to prison for assault and battery

A sensational legal proceeding took place in the Russian city of Omsk. A deacon of St Nicholas cathedral is sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment for sex solicitation, assault and battery of his parishioners. According to the materials of the trial, during the confession deacon Vasily Vorobets many times invited his parishioner Tatyana Tankovid to his place “to have some vodka”. Once the priest came to her house. That moment the woman was working at her kitchen garden. The priest began to row and punched her a few times. Then he armed himself with a picket and started to beat the woman. The next day the drunken deacon came to her place again. This time the woman invited two relatives, and the priest started a fight with them. One of the men was injured. Tatyana hid at her neighbours’ and they called the police. However before the police arrived the priest had taken an axe and had begun to hack the door of the house, there the woman was hiding. Police arrived while he was trying to rush into the house.
