In spite of everything, Russians prefer their country to any other

A majority of Russians (73%, against 16%) would not want to have been born in any other country, in spite of the low living standards in Russia. An even greater share would not go to live permanently abroad (80%, against 15% who would like to leave Russia). However, according to the poll, conducted by The Public Opinion Foundation, among people between 18 and 35, 27% respondents said they would like to leave Russia, and the same share from this age group said they would prefer to have been born in another country. Among those who would prefer to live in Russia under any circumstances, the older generation predominates.
