Diamond Week to be held in Russia's Yakutia

The Diamond Week for tourists will be held in Yakutia for the first time in the history of the diamond industry of the republic on August 27-31. The guests of the republic will learn how diamonds are extracted, sorted, processed and how they become works of the art of jewelry.

The tourist project Diamond Week is implemented on the initiative of the Yakutian administration. Previously, the republic was included in the federal target program for the development of domestic and inbound tourism. Yakutia's President Egor Borisov said: "The republic is interesting at any time of year. It is a perfect place for those who are fascinated by the romance of travel and extreme sports."

The tourist route will start in the diamond capital of Yakutia - the city of Mirny. The route will begin with a tour of the 500-meter quarry of diamond pipe "Mir", the diamond sorting center and the museum of kimberlites.

Afterwards, the tourists will move to Yakutsk to visit eco-ethnographic complex "The Kingdom of Permafrost," etno-museum "Ytyk Haya" and eco-ethnographic complex "Chochur Muran." The Diamond Week will end with an auction of certified, high quality Yakutian diamonds and unique jewelry made of gold, platinum and silver.
