A stormy wind hit the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Territory in the zone stretching from the coastal cities of Taman to Tuapse.

As reported by officials from the local Kubanenergo energy supply company, in the area of Novorossiisk, a large Black Sea port, the wind velocity reaches 30-35 metres per second.

A warning about the approaching storm was circulated yesterday by local weather forecasting specialists. In this connection Kubanenergo staff have checked the readiness of emergency and maintenance-restoration brigades and provided them with all necessary equipment, machinery and special means to promptly react to possible emergency situations in the power grids of the region.

In some areas of the Krasnodar Territory the wind has already broken some transmission lines and disrupted the supply of electricity.
