Explosion at Texan fertilizer plant kills over 60, death toll climbs

 

An explosion ripped through a fertilizer plant in the U.S. state of Texas. According to media reports, more than 70 people were killed and about 200 were injured. The blast wave destroyed about 70 homes in the 2.800-strong town of West.

The news about the explosion at the plant was reported on April 17 at 19.50 local time. According to preliminary reports, a container of anhydrous ammonthe caught fire at the factory for unknown reasons. An explosion occurred, and the flames engulfed the factory and the surrounding buildings.

Meanwhile, according to news agencies, there are chances for a second explosion to occur, since there is another large container with a chemical substance at the factory.

Two days earlier, a double attack was committed in the United States, which resulted in the wounding of at least 170 people.
