Taliban leader Mullah Omar is attempting to negotiate on his personal surrender to the Northern Alliance, NBC said referring to official spokesmen for George Bush's administration. According to the spokesmen, Omar has lost control over the Taliban armed forces and links with field commanders. Omar is very afraid that his fighters will kill him. Therefore he is trying to surrender to the Northern Alliance, the US spokesmen said. By the time being 6 of 35 Al-Qaeda's top leaders have been destroyed by US air strikes. The USA focuses on the liquidation of the rest of the leaders sheltering in Kandahar and Osama bin Laden hiding among his faithful assistants and bodyguards, NBC says.
