82 children infected with salmonella in Russia's Irkutsk
The number of cases of salmonellosis among children and personnel of kindergarten № 62 in Irkutsk has risen to 86 people (82 children and 4 personnel) as of Monday, Jan, 28th.
Seven children have been hospitalized, their condition is satisfactory. Others receive treatment as outpatients. A most recent lab test has revealed 62 more cases of salmonellosis. As many as 284 people have been examined in total.
According to epidemiological investigation, the disease was spread through food. The transfer factor was chicken breast souffle and cottage cheese and rice casserole, as well as a gross violation of sanitary norms.
The kindergarten is closed for quarantine.
