The commander of Aidar Battalion, Sergei Melnichuk, ordered to release the Luhansk-based journalist and freelance reporter of Pravda.Ru, Oksana Lashchenova. Oksana is fine, she will soon contact her friends and family.

"Even though there is enough evidence to prove Lashchenova's collaboration with terrorists and warmongering in Luhansk, I believe there is no place for women here. One can say we pardon her and give her a chance to improve," said Melnichuk.

Chief editor of the Luhansk Pravda and freelance correspondent of Pravda.Ru, Oksana Lashchenova, was arrested by Aidar fighters on August 25 at the checkpoint in the village of Schastye.

Pravda.Ru would like to thank all those, who in one way or another contributed to her release.

We are very pleased that Oksana has been released, but we must not forget that the fate of at least seven other journalists remains unknown.

Mariupol editor Sergey Dolgov was kidnapped and deliberately deprived of freedom through informers' "help."

Editor of Donetsk Municipal Newspaper, Elena Blokha, was thrown in jail on charges of creating a terrorist organization.

War correspondent and poet Yuri Yurchenko was kidnapped.

Photojournalist of International News Agency Russia Today Andrew Stenin and journalists Sergei Korenchenko and Andrei Vyachalo disappeared without a trace.
