Dangerous vulnerability found on Android phones

Zimperium company, that focuses on mobile security, has found out a significant flaw in smartphones running on the Android, and called it the most dangerous operating system.

About a billion phones all over the world can face a new threat.

The flaw was found in the software. Receiving a text message, the malicious code would take over instantly.

"This happens even before the sound that you've received a message has even occurred," says Joshua Drake, security researcher with Zimperium and co-author of Android Hacker's Handbook. "That's what makes it so dangerous. [It] could be absolutely silent. You may not even see anything."

The hacker may obtain all data on the phone, and its owner, take money, switch on the camera and monitor you, and so on. "It's really up to their imagination what they do once they get in," Drake says.

Google was informed of the flaw a month ago, but updating is quite slow. The experts claim, that about a billion phones still run the risk.
