Passenger bus burns in Moscow center, 2 killed

A passenger bus has burnt in the center of Moscow near the Kursky Railway Station. Firefighters found the bodies of two people inside the bus.

Rescue services received the information about the accident at about 6:30 a.m. It was reported that a double-decker bus was on fire near building No. 29 on Zemlyanoi Val Street. The bus was bound for the city of Vladimir. The fire was raging on the area of six square meters. At 6:45, the fire was completely extinguished.

The bodies of two people were found in the burned bus. According to EMERCOM officials, two other passengers were rescued from the front part of the bus, BaltInfo said. A law enforcement source added that all other passengers escaped to safety from the bus before the firefighters arrived. The police investigate the causes of the fire including the version of arson.

Last week, a Lexus vehicle burnt on Ryazansky Prospekt in Moscow after a collision with a shuttle bus. Two people were killed in the accident, eight others were injured.
