Railroad exploded in Donetsk region of Ukraine

 

Two blasts with a difference of 20 minutes occurred on Sunday, June 22nd, on a railway in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. The routes of several passenger trains, including to popular summer Russian destinations, such as Anapa, Minvody and Adler, have been changed. 

One explosion occurred on the tracks between the stations of Ilovajsk and Mospino. The other one - between the stations of Ilovajsk and Kuteynikovo, where 14 cars of a freight train derailed as a result of the explosion.

The second explosion occurred on the railroad as the freight train of RZD (Russian Railways) was traveling by, ITAR-TASS reports. The train was transporting chemical raw materials - pyrite cinders. No loss of cargo occurred as a result of the blast. 

Three concrete sleepers were damaged and rails were broken in the first explosion. The train was not damaged; the locomotive crew was not hurt in the incident either. Circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
