Ukraine shells Russian territory. Russian customs officer wounded

 

The Ukrainian army shelled the Russian territory. According to spokesman for the Border Guard Service of Russia in the Rostov Region, Vasily Malayev, the Ukrainian troops were firing on the Ukrainian border checkpoint of Dolzhansky, when several shells flew into the territory of the Rostov region of Russia. The military man said that, most likely, checkpoint was shelled with mortar fire.

"The fight in the area of ​​Ukrainian checkpoint of Dolzhansky started at 18:40 Moscow time, - said Vasily Malayev. - The collision occurred between the militias who were carrying out border control, and regular soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or the National Guard." 

Spokespeople for the press service of the self-proclaimed People's Republic of Luhansk said that a mine that landed on territory of Russia injured a Russian customs officer. The officer was taken to the hospital in the town of Novoshahtinsk. His condition remains severe. 

This information, as well as the fact of the shelling of the Russian territory on the part of Ukraine is being investigated. 

The Russian side expects explanations and apologies from Kiev in connection with the shelling of the Russian territory, Kremlin officials said. 

Spokespeople for the Foreign Ministry of Russia said that the attack of the Russian territory was a direct provocation to prevent the implementation of the Geneva agreements on the de-escalation of the conflict.
