Rescuers have resumed search for Polish tourists in Altai foothills. According to the Emergencies Ministry, the resumption of the search for the two Polish tourists who left the Vysotnik base in the Kucherla settlement on October 9 and never returned was prompted by the appeal of the Polish ambassador. The Polish tourists had been following an optional route. They had left their personal belongings and documents at the tourist base. On October 13, they passed the rescuers' base Ak-Kem, refused to get registered and to disclose their route. When the set time came, the tourists failed to return to the base. The search waged since October 20 proved futile. Currently, the search is being conducted by two Altai rescue groups with the help of Mi-8 helicopters.
