American guns injure 19 at Mother's Day Parade in New Orleans

 

As a result of the shooting during Mother's Day parade in the U.S. city of New Orleans (Louisiana), 19 people, with several children among them, were injured, The Associated Press reports. 

Yet another tragedy involving the use of firearms occurred in the U.S. when unknown persons opened fire on participants of the parade in honor of Mother's Day. Up to 400 people were participating in the parade. According to most recent news reports, 19 people, including two children, were injured in the shooting.

Law enforcement officials said that there were three attackers. One of the shooters was a short-haired black man in a white shirt and jeans, aged about 20. The attack came suddenly and took only a few seconds. Police officers did not have time to wade through the panicking crowd to detain the attackers.

The power structures of the state are looking for the attackers. Meanwhile, the FBI has already said that the incident was not a terrorist act.
