Mother kills her children by driving van into Hudson river after domestic fight
Police in Newburgh, New York say a mother distraught over some kind of a domestic fight drove her van into the Hudson River Tuesday night with three of her children inside. All four drowned.
The twist is the woman let her 10-year-old son out of the minivan before she drove into the river. She and her other three kids -- two boys, ages 2 and 5 and an 11-month-old baby girl -- didn't make it out alive, according to .
Police said a 10-year-old boy ran to a nearby fire house and told them that his mother had just let him out of their minivan, before she drove it into the river off Washington Street.
"The car was located, it was below surface, and it took about an hour to get the car out the water, and we have one adult and three children in the car," said Police Chief Michael Ferrara.
The victims' names have not yet been released. Police are still trying to figure out the connection between the domestic call and this incident, reports.
