Russian boy survives rockfall in Thailand, loses his mother

 

Doctors of Siriraj Hospital, where the six-year-old Russian, a victim of rockfall, remains, insist on surgery, the head of the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Thailand, Vladimir Sosnov said.

"A surgery is required to pump blood out from the lungs. The child also suffered a crack of the pelvis, two broken ribs and liver hematoma. His condition is serious, but stable. The boy is conscious. Perhaps he realizes what has happened to him, but asks nothing about the mother," ITAR-TASS quoted the diplomat as saying. He also noted that if the operation is successful, the six-year Alexander will be evacuated to Russia on board a special EMERCOM flight in 5-7 days.

Doctors intend to operate Alexander today or tomorrow. "This will look at his condition. Maybe they will operate the boy tonight," said the consul.

He also confirmed that the boy's aunt was going to arrive in Bangkok comes aunt boy. "In a telephone conversation, she said that the family decided to cremate the boy's mother in Thailand. Her ashes will then be delivered to her home town," said the official.

On October 6, an accident occurred in one of the temples in Phetburi province in the west of Thailand. A huge boulder came off the rock next to the temple, damaged several residential buildings, smashed a car and fell on a small house, where the Russian woman was staying with her six-year-old child.
