Nizhny Novgorod ready to host international business summit

Less than three weeks are left before the opening of the Second International Business Summit "Investing in Future: Russia." The forum will take place in Nizhny Novgorod from 11 to 12 of September.

According to the head of the region, Valery Shantsev, the business summit is one of the best platforms for meetings between business people, experts and scientists. During such summits, economic theory is combined with business practice.

The key themes of the summit will be the creation of a favorable business climate and the attraction of investments in the industrial and innovative sector of the Russian industry.

"The business summit is a unique platform. Last year, during the First International Business Summit in Nizhny Novgorod, we did not expect that it would be such a success. Many contracts were concluded, we signed 17 agreements worth 13 billion rubles, and all those agreements are working," said the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Valery Shantsev.

To date, 14 foreign countries have confirmed the participation of their business missions for the Second Business Summit 2013. More than 900 participants have already signed up, most of whom are directors of large corporations, small and medium-sized businesses.

In general, the program of the congress part of the Second International Business Summit includes 44 events at various venues. September 11 will be the day for plenary and working "round tables." On September 12, the communication part of the summit will take place. The program includes four field sessions to visit the companies that have successfully implemented investment projects on the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region. There will be "round tables" on relevant subjects. To crown it all, inspections of available investment areas will be conducted in the region.

Business missions from the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Czech Republic, China, South Korea, UAE, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other countries will participate in the event.

"During this year's business summit, we want to focus on all matters relating to investments, - said Valery Shantsev. - Without them, the future of Russia is impossible to imagine. An actual question for investors is the availability of platforms for their projects. One should provide all necessary communications to investors so that they have everything they need provided to them. The government should not be engaged in business - the government is obliged to create conditions for business. This is the reason why such a platform as an international business summit is needed," Shantsev said.
