Ukraine agrees to pay $386 for Russian natural gas

 

Ukraine is ready to pay Russia $386 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas, chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Stepan Kubiv told reporters visiting the U.S.. According to him, Kyiv will fulfill all obligations under existing debts. "Ukraine has always paid creditors on time based on market and contractual prices, - said Kubiv. - We will pay all our debts, there is no other way."

Earlier, the head of Russia's Gazprom, Alexei Miller, said that from April 1, the price of Russian gas for Ukraine increased from 268.5 to 385.5 dollars dollars per 1,000 cubic meters. Last week, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, in connection with the denunciation of "Kharkiv agreements" on the Black Sea Fleet, signed a decree on the abolition of zero customs duties on gas for Ukraine. This automatically stipulated a higher price for the "blue fuel" to Kiev - to 485 dollars per 1,000 cubic meters. The resolution applies to legal relations arising after the April 2, 2014.
