Beginning today, a ban on posting forecasts of results of the Russian presidential elections comes into force. According to Russian election legislation, on March 9 to 14, 2004, a ban on publication of opinion polls, forecasts of the election results and other research connected with elections, including their placing in public information and telecommunications networks, the Internet among them, is in force.

In addition, beginning 00:00 local time on March 13, 2004, election campaigning on television and radio and in printed mass media sources is forbidden.
