Anti-War Demonstrations in Portugal, Spain, and USA

Last Thursday’s initiative in Lisbon was followed in Madrid and San Francisco at the weekend, in concentrations at which more people could gather. In California, the number of anti-war protesters reached 50,000.

“Stop the War before it starts!” “Peace yes, war no!” “Schools and not bombs” and “We don’t want blood for oil” were some of the slogans chanted in these demonstrations at which public fury at the arrogance of Washington’s stance on Iraq is evident.
