Bust of Putin: good for nothing

Do you want to buy a cast-iron bust of the second president of Russia? Others did not want too. Cast-iron busts of the Russian president are not much in demand. The manufacture of them has been stopped by an engineering plant in the city of Kusa, Chelyabinsk region. Five months ago, PRAVDA.Ru reported the plant was carrying out an order of manufacturing a test parcel of cast-iron busts of Vladimir Putin. Since that time, the test parcel of Putin’s busts of different sizes has been produced. The only trouble is that these creations of Ural casters are not in popular demand. Who knows why, though people do not have much desire to buy the sculptures of the first person in the state. Apropos, the manufacture of sculptures of the kind is not a novelty for the Kusa plant. Namely, during the Soviet times, cast-iron busts of Lenin, Stalin, Brejnev, of leaders in war, and politicians, even of friendly socialist countries, were being manufactured. Thanks to this production, the plant was prosperous. It is no wonder that all the busts were sold out during those times. The plant, which had no “political order” within the last 10 years, associated certain hopes with this order. The castors thought: “Who knows, probably business will increase.” If the demand is stable, they decided, batch production will be established. A marketing monitoring will be carried out, and then busts of other Russian politicians will be ordered to the plant. However, business did not increase. Putin’s busts turned out not to be in demand. Thank God that money was paid by an anonymous customer (according to some sources, that is, the administration of a Russian city). Now, the plant is returning to the manufacture of its traditional production: sculptures for parks, gardens, and other public places, as well as tools for boiler houses.
