The treasurer of the illegal armed formations was detained in Grozny.

As the Main Directorate of the Interior Ministry of Russia for the Southern Federal District reported on Monday, according to the operational information, from 1996 the 50-year-old inhabitant of the Volgograd Region answered for the distribution of the financial resources coming from the militants' foreign sponsors.

The detainee paid money to those who perpetrated terrorist acts against representatives of local power and servicemen of federal forces.

The detainee was turned over to the FSB for taking investigative actions.
